Where did the actuarial dream start?

Honestly, with a spreadsheet and a stubborn question. In Harare I kept asking what career rewards mathematics and protects families financially, because I had watched what financial shock does to a family after losing my mother young. Someone said “actuary.” I had to look it up. Then I couldn’t stop looking it up.

What was the hardest moment on the journey?

The season when the money and the grief arrived together. Studying for Exam P while working, far from home, wondering whether the exam fee should have been groceries. What carried me was Ubuntu in practice. A host family’s open door, mentors who answered emails at midnight, friends who prayed with me before sittings. I did not get here alone. Nobody does.

Six exams in, what actually works?

Consistency over intensity. Roughly a hundred hours per exam hour, spread thin and steady, beats heroic cramming every time. Past questions early, not as a final rehearsal. And a postmortem after every sitting, pass or fail, asking: was it hours, method, or exam-day execution?

Why build ActuaryKuda instead of just climbing quietly?

Because I am because we are. Every scholarship, guide, and template on this site is something I wish had existed when I was googling “how to become an actuary from Zimbabwe” at 2 AM. If the bridge helped me cross, my job is to widen it.
