Where are you trying to go?
Two societies, five credentials, one decision that shapes your exam order. Pick a destination below and the pathway lights up, with links into each exam hub.
- PProbability
- FMFinancial Math
- FAMFund. of Act. Math
- SRMStats for Risk
- PAPredictive Analytics
- ASTAM / ALTAMAdvanced track
- ASA+ VEE credits & modules
- FSAFellowship track exams
This is my route. I finished it in August 2026, so every hub above is written from inside the exam room rather than from a syllabus. The order shown is the most common one; P ↔ FM can swap freely.
- 1Probability (shared with SOA P)
- 2Financial Math (shared with FM)
- MAS-IModern Actuarial Statistics I
- MAS-IIModern Actuarial Statistics II
- 5 & 6Ratemaking · Reserving
- ACAS+ online courses & VEE
- FCASExams 7 to 9
The first two exams are shared with the SOA. You don't have to choose a society until after them. P&C people tend to love the ratemaking/reserving problem space; the CAS Trust Scholarship funds this route specifically.
- PProbability
- FMFinancial Math
- FAMFund. of Act. Math
- SRMStats for Risk
- PAPredictive Analytics
- ERMEnterprise Risk Management exam
- CERAChartered Enterprise Risk Analyst
The ASA is done as of August 2026, so the FSA Investment track is the road I am on now. CERA can join it later, and I write up every sitting in the newsletter as I go.

Whichever destination you pick, the first step is the same decision: P or FM.
